I love to teach! I hold the belief that we are all creators, but some of us are still emerging and haven’t found our creative outlet quite yet. In my classes, everyone is successful simply because they’ve shown up and are ready to create something. Even when a class is expressly about “the product,” it’s really always about “the process.” Here are my upcoming workshops. The list is always changing, so check back soon for more!
You Rock the Basics! : Learn the basics of bead-stringing and jewelry-making, from types of beads, materials and tools to elements of balanced design. Come away with a necklace or a bracelet and a coordinating pair of earrings…and the skills to make more!
Wednesday, April 20, 2011 / 6:30-8:30 pm
Class fee: $20 (some supplies extra)
Rock Paper Scissors / 15 Bloomfield Ave., Montclair
Register by calling: 973-337-6759
Twists & Turns, I : This is the wirework class you’ve been waiting for! Learn the basics of wirework by creating your own earwires, simple loops, and wrapped loops out of 20-gauge copper and sterling silver wire. You will come away from the class with a strong understanding of how to safely (and playfully!) work with wire — and you’ll leave with a pair of earrings you made completely from scratch!
Wednesday, April 27, 2011 / 6:30-8:30 pm
Class fee: $25, materials included
(additional beads available for purchase, if desired, but not required)

Twists & Turns, II : In “Twists & Turns, Part I,” we learned to make our own jump rings, basic earwires, simple loops, wrapped loops out of 20-gauge copper and sterling silver wire. In “Part II,” we’ll take those elements to the next level, combining them with hand-forged spirals, beaded-links, and abstract shapes. Students can play with making their own jump-ring chains, beaded chains, beaded-spiral focal piece, or abstract components. (Even if you didn’t take “Part I,” come to the class with a basic understanding of putting pliers to wire and you’ll fit right in…)

My cousin Jacque Rubino posted your site on Facebook. How often do you do workshops? I live in Verona, and this is something I could REALLY get into!
Hi, Marlene! I lead workshops a few times per month at Rock Paper Scissors on Bloomfield Ave. (where Montclair and Glen Ridge meet, near the Panera and Smashburger) and at other times/places, too. Zip me an email (anne@annesailer.com), and I’ll send you a schedule. I hope we meet soon! – Anne
